David Lynch

David Lynch is an award winning Irish journalist and author with a wide range of experience in regional, national and international press.

A Divided Paradise: An Irishman in the Holy Land (New Island, 2009) is his second book; his first was a historical study that focused on the early political life of James Connolly, Radical Politics in Modern Ireland: The Irish Socialist Republican Party 1896-1904 (Irish Academic Press, 2005).

He has worked in the occupied Palestinian territories and in the wider Middle East. He recently spent almost 10 months in Cairo, reporting on the post revolutionary turmoil and the Egyptian elections.

In 2007 David Lynch, was declared the national winner of the ‘For Diversity. Against Discrimination’ Journalism Award. The Award was presented by the European Commission in recognition of journalism which highlights discrimination issues and as part of the Commission’s “For Diversity. Against Discrimination” information campaign.

Currently based between Dublin and Cairo, he is working on a number of projects.
