Paul Durcan is an Irish poet born in 1944. He studied law and economics at University College Dublin. After moving to London in 1966 he worked at the North Thames Gas Board. In 1968 Paul got married and later his family moved to Cork. Among his most famous collections are A Snail in my Prime, Crazy About Women, Greetings to Our Friends in Brazil and Cries of an Irish Caveman. In 2003 his weekly addresses to the nation on RTÉ Radio 1 programme Today with Pat Kenny were published in a collection called Paul Durcan’s Diary.
