David O’Donoghue is a native of Cork city. He has worked with RTÉ news and for the French international agency Agence France-Presse in Paris. Dr O’Donoghue has taught journalism at university level in the UK. He helped to launch Ireland’s first independent national radio station, Century Radio, in 1989, and currently works as a parliamentary reporter in Oireachtas Éireann. David O’Donoghue holds a PhD from Dublin City University and is the author of two previous books: Hitler’s Irish Voices: The Story of German Radio’s Wartime Irish Service (Belfast, 1998); and The Irish Army in the Congo 1960-1964: The Far Battalions (Dublin, 2005).
